the "Hand-in-hand" peace rally, held in Feb 28 2004, called for 1 million people to participate. In memory of the 228 massacre (1947), the day has gained its political significance after the lift of martial law in 1987. On the very day, more than 2 million people joined the rally, at 2:28pm, holding hands with their neighors, forming a peace wall from the northern end to the southern end of Taiwan.
The line of 2 million people took some time to array. Individual participants also produced their own banners, saying "say yes to taiwan" or "no missiles", and marched infront of the cheering participants. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
